Tatlisu Northern Cyprus

Tatlisu is a quiet and comfortable village in Northern Cyprus, preferred by many property buyers who want to live away from the hustle and bustle of big cities but still want modern infrastructure. The village, whose name means “sweet water” in Turkish, is located at the foot of the Beshparmak Mountains and stretches across coastal and mountainous areas. About 2000 people live in Tatlisu, which is about 44.5 km from Kyrenia, about 51 km from Ercan Airport and 69 km from Larnaka Airport.

The surroundings of Tatlisu are impressive. It has some of the most beautiful bays in Northern Cyprus, with the beaches mostly being pebbly and rocky, but there are also sandy beaches such as Davlos/Kaplıca beach, which is about 10-15 minutes from Tatlisu. From Tatlisu you have a wonderful view of the east coast of Girne (Kyrenia) and the Dipkarpas peninsula.

The region’s economy is based on the cultivation of vegetables and olives, as well as the sale of meat, tourism and real estate. Tatlisu is the largest supplier of fresh vegetables and olives to the whole of Northern Cyprus and the farmland covers 66 square meters of the village. A large proportion of Tatlisu’s residents are British and European, and more and more Russians have been moving to the village recently. The settlement has a rich history and is an important Neolithic archaeological site.

The region is equipped with residential complexes that have modern infrastructure such as swimming pools, restaurants and fitness studios. There is also a hospital, post office, community, police and fire department, as well as public places such as parks, shops, restaurants and bars.

Property prices in Tatlisu are much lower than in Famagusta or Kyrenia. 2+1 apartments, villas and townhouses are particularly in demand here. Most properties are purchased as holiday homes, less often as permanent residences.

Tatlisu is perfect for those who prefer a relaxing holiday and unity with nature. There are many attractions for history buffs and the breathtaking landscapes will not leave anyone indifferent.
