Catalkoy Northern Cyprus

Catalkoy is a picturesque village located about 10 minutes drive from the center of Kyrenia. Its name comes from the Turkish word “catal”, meaning “fork”, and “koy” meaning “village”. It is known for its narrow streets and is often referred to as a typical Mediterranean village.

Catalkoy is located in the mountains and borders Ozankoy to the west. In the east it slopes down to the Mediterranean coast. The village has a central square and is characterized by white-painted houses, shops, restaurants, small cafes, friendly people and breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea.

There are small beaches scattered along the coast and although they are very popular, they are never crowded. One of the best beaches is Shayna Beach, where visitors can not only enjoy a wonderful dinner and a glass of wine, but also experience an unforgettable sunset.

Catalkoy is also home to several 5-star hotels such as Cratos, Malpas and Acapulco, which offer first-class conditions for a relaxing holiday.

The region is known for its high construction volume. New supermarkets, business premises, universities and the Hilton Hotel are being built, which indicates the high development potential of Northern Cyprus. In the long term, a road from Catalkoy to Kyrenia is planned, similar to the Las Vegas Strip. A casino is also planned to be built in the near future as the gambling business is popular in Northern Cyprus.
