Arapkoy Northern Cyprus
Located in the Beshparmak Mountains is the charming village of Arapkoy, which impresses with its picturesque beauty and rich history. Originally known as a Greek village called Klepini, it was later settled by Arabic-speaking Maronites during Ottoman rule. Although it is a small and quiet village, Arapkoy is a popular destination for tourists who want to enjoy the magnificent landscapes and breathtaking views. The total number of residents is approximately 500, mainly Cypriots.
The village’s attractions include two ancient churches: St. Luke, which is now a working mosque, and the Byzantine Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Both are important historical heirlooms of the region.
When visiting the village, be sure to visit the Restaurant Klepini, run by a local Turkish Cypriot family. Here you can enjoy delicious Cypriot cuisine, including seafood and meat mezzes, homemade wine and traditional Turkish coffee and tea. The owner of the restaurant is always ready to chat with his guests and welcome his guests in a traditional way.
